Def stepped outside my comfort zone with this one but so happy I did. From my own personal struggles, and my history in running, to relationships, and a journey of self-love, and how I got into the outdoors. From the benefits of fresh air and eco-therapy, to my ‘work’ in the school district, as a Social Worker, EA, and now pursuing an after degree in teaching, to my role as a social media influencer in the Outdoor Adventure Industry... It’s honestly been quite some time where I have gone to the mountains, or travel elsewhere, ‘just for fun’. There always seems to be some kind of ‘work’ attached to it (even if it’s minuscule), especially lately seeing as things have been busier with school and now in Full-Time practicum. I have come to know myself pretty well over the years and can get quite ‘anxious’ depending on the situation, when I have work/content obligations while adventuring or traveling and things don’t go ‘quite as planned’, for whichever reason. I almost find that staying home in Red Deer can be more of a ‘vacay and relaxing’ then heading West at times. Which is SO backwards and a feeling I hope to stray away from, finding more of a ‘balance’. Having been able to mix my love for the outdoors, with work and making an income has been a dream in so many ways, though also has caused me to question my mixing of such... I am going to be speaking more about this, along with more of my personal story, tomorrow at the @arcteryxcalgary @theladyalliance @womenwhoexplore event! Though I am excited to be finally heading West this Sunday for some much needed fresh air and mountain therapy #freshairandfreedom
